To start out, I can only say: Wow. Incredible work indeed! For starters, the colours are staggeringly beautiful and vivid, while still remaining toned down enough so as to not be overbearing to the viewer. Though typically a fully saturated, one-colour (or, very few coloured) image can often be bland at worst and blinding at best, the skillful use of contrast differences, fading, and different amounts of exposure lead the work to blend well, each of the shades of the one colour 'working well with others', so to speak. That said, the subject is simplistic yet striking, and the rule of thirds is well upheld, especially with the slight offset of the subject to the right. Finally, as always, very skillful perspective work; the dock, narrowing in the distance, leads the eye directly to the sunset, while the rigid angles contrast very well with the smooth, noiseless surface of the water below. Lovely work! I hope to see more like this, soon.
You have an eye (most would say you have two) for the beautiful and inspirational. The colors are mind-blowing and breath-taking. With the sun setting and the boards represent our path do we continue our journey into the unknown of what lies ahead. These waters might be still and calm for now, but can we withstand the rising of the tide when the storms of troubles approach? That rope can represent that we can trip up along this walk in life if we do not walk true and steady and are not aware of what surrounds us. It can, also, show us that if we ever stray from the path that is before us wandering off that there is a Lifeline to guide us back to where we need to be.!!!
